ANNUAL DIVERSITY WORKSHOP AND LUNCHEON Sponsored by

Joy Norman, Director of the Office of Disability Services at Columbus State University, will present a one-hour workshop, following the SHRM luncheon, about the challenges to people with disabilities in obtaining employment.  The unemployment rate for persons with disabilities is almost double the rate for people without disabilities.  She will dispel the myths associated with workers/employees with disabilities, address the concerns of employers, helping us to learn to focus on ability rather than disability.  Her presentation will include a panel discussion involving five CSU students with disabilities who will share their goals and dreams for careers and what they perceive will be their personal challenges in seeking employment.

One credit hour is being applied for through HRCI and SHRM. Registration for the Workshop includes the Luncheon from 11:15am - 12:00noon.
